Join us for an unforgettable experience this summer as we come together to build an outdoor classroom amidst the stunning natural beauty of the Saint John’s Prep campus. Led by the Avon Hills Folk School\, who will provide their experti se in traditional timber-frame construction\, these two five-day course se ssions offer a hands-on opportunity to learn the skills of traditional tim ber framing while contributing to our commitment to environmental educatio n.
\nParticipants will experience the artistry and technique of timb er framing\, using those skills to construct a 24-foot by 36-foot classroo m-in-the-woods. Guided by expert artisans\, you will learn the intricacie s of layout\, joinery\, and assembly\, as well as the principles of sustai nable construction practices.
\nScheduled over two five-day sessions\, June 5 to June 9 and July 10 to July 14\, 2024\ , participants will work collaboratively to bring the outdoor classroom to life. From constructing the timber frames to installing roof rafters\, e very aspect of the process will provide a hands-on learning opportunity\, fostering teamwork\, problem-solving\, and a deep appreciation for traditi onal craftsmanship.
\nBoth sessions are open to students\, parents\, faculty/staff\, and alumni and friends of Saint John’s Prep. They requir e no prior experience with building or timber framing. Whether you are a novice eager to learn new skills or a seasoned builder looking to deepen y our knowledge\, this program welcomes participants of all backgrounds and abilities.
\nSpaces are limited to 10 participants per five- day session. Registration is now open\, with a cost of $400 for adults and a discounted $200 price for students per five-day session. Students must enter the code SJPSTUDENTS to receive the discount price. W e will provide lunch daily\, along with a communal meal on one evening of each session.

Join our Saint John’s Prep League of Legends team to learn how to improve your skills individually and work with a team ! Learn to boost your overall game sense and ability as a player. Teamwork is an essential component of each game\, and campers will learn how to be come effective teammates and leaders. In addition\, teamwork can sometimes determine a win or a loss in Esports.
\nEsports campers learn throu gh hands-on exercises from our head coach\, Mr. Miller\, and his team of s killed assistant coaches. Over the session\, students will work on the gam e’s basic mechanics and learn from Esports experts. Players must be 13 by July 8\, 2024\, or have parental permission. These sessions are geared tow ard two levels of experience : 1) brand new – intermediate and 2) Greatly Experienced.

Amahl’s mother is skeptical and desperate over the ir poverty\, but she is moved by the king’s generosity. When she attempts to take their gold to care for her son\, the kings forgive her\, recognizi ng her hardship. Inspired\, Amahl selflessly offers his crutch as a gift f or the child\, leading to a miraculous healing. The story beautifully illu strates themes of faith\, compassion\, and the transformative power of giv ing.
\nThis story will be told with 23 stunning puppets. These are l ife-size puppets and each need several performers to bring to life! These puppets were commissioned by Queen Elizabeth II and created by the Little Angel Puppet Theatre of London\, England. Join us for a night w hen you and your friends will learn some Kung fu/ Tai chi techniques with Prep Chinese teacher Yahui Shi and Master Deema\, who is certified Nationa l Kung Fu First Class Referee!
\nParents will have fun at Dee Cheng Kung Fu Academy in Waite Park\, which is the only authentic Chinese Kung Fu School in Minnesota. Guests will also enjoy traditional ho t tea and snack. We encourage you to bring a friend or two to share the Ch inese culture.
