Saint John’s Preparatory School wishes to recognize and encourage strong academic, leadership, and character qualities in its students. The Theatre Scholarship was established in honor of Br. Paul-Vincent Niebauer, who greatly contributes to the Saint John’s Prep community by teaching and directing theatre. Upper School students who have a strong demonstrated interest in theatre are encouraged to apply for this one-time scholarship of $1,000. Priority will be given to incoming freshman.

Criteria include: Demonstrated interest in theatre, commitment to service, academic achievements,
special talents, community leadership and character qualities

All aspects of the Application for Admission (academic transcripts, recommendations, essay and interviews)
will be considered when evaluating your application. The priority deadline for the $1,000 scholarship is February 1st of each year. After that date, the scholarships will be awarded dependent upon remaining funds.

  • In 500 words or less, describe your qualities which fulfill the criteria for this scholarship. Include information regarding your involvement in school (activities, sports, fine arts, clubs) as well as any volunteer or community experiences. Each essay should describe how the student’s work ethic and behavior exemplify the Benedictine Values of Saint John’s Prep, as well as the student’s commitment to continued academic excellence and service to others.
