International Student Application Process

Students interested in applying for admission must complete the following steps:

1. Complete the Application Form

Apply Online: This is the fastest way to submit your application to the Admission Team.
We also accept the Standard Application Online (SAO). To begin your application, click here.

2. Pay the $175 application fee

If applying online, be sure to have your credit card ready. You will be prompted to provide your credit card information prior to submitting the application for admission.

3. Provide two letters of recommendation.

We require two letters of recommendation from your most recent Math and English Teacher. Teachers can be directed to complete the form and submit it electronically using the Connect2Prep application system.

4. Submit your official school record

Have an official copy of your academic record(s) bearing the original stamp and signature of the school sent directly to us in a sealed envelope from the school. A final transcript will also be required prior to fall course registration.

5. Provide proof of English Proficiency

Results from an English proficiency test are required for all international applications. Accepted test formats include:

  • TOEFL iBT (school code: 2677)
  • TOEFL Jr.
  • IELTS
  • We no longer accept SLEP.

6. Send us a copy of your passport biography page

Please scan and upload a copy of the biography page of your passport to the Connect2Prep application system. Scanned documents can also be sent to admissions@sjprep.net.

7. Provide financial documentation

As required by U.S. Immigration, F-1 international students must submit proof of financial solvency for the first year of their education. The Foreign Certification of Finances form can be uploaded to the Connect2Prep application system. An original bank statement (dated within the last 6 months) must be submitted along with this form. If English is not the language in which the bank documents are issued, the bank statement must be accompanied by a certified, literal, English translation.

8. Schedule an interview

When all application materials have been received, a member of the Admission Team will contact you via email to set-up a candidate interview. Interviews are typically conducted via Skype and last anywhere from 30-60 minutes.

I-20 Information

Once a student has been admitted to the school and the enrollment deposit has been received, we will issue the I-20 documentation. Please note that all immigration documents will be sent directly to the student’s permanent residence and will not be sent to another individual for delivery.

"Great place for students to develop themselves and prepare for college and beyond. Each student is treated as an individual, instead of a number like other larger schools. The faculty and staff are well trained and prepared for their positions, and the extracurricular programs let students explore their interests in a friendly environment."
Seanan, Alum from Hong Kong
"I am really proud of all the friends I have made, from all different cultures and countries. I love Saint John’s Prep because they make you feel as though you were home."
