This year Homecoming is a super-sized celebration creating almost two weeks of fun for our community. We hope you will join us in celebrating our students and school. This year’s theme is Top Secret: Spies & Espionage. Homecoming Mass & Spirit Day Saint John’s Abbey Church October 5 at 9:25 am We are starting our homecoming celebration with an all-school mass at 9:25 am on Thursday, Oct. 5. Parents and friends are welcome to join us in the Saint John’s Abbey Church for this special mass. Oct. 5 is also the day of our homecoming soccer games and swim meet. We’ve designated this day as spirit day, so students are asked to proudly wear their SJP red-just save the face paint and crazy costumes until after mass! Talent Show Stephen B. Humphrey Theater, Saint John’s University October 6 at 7:00 p.m. The talent show is Friday, October 6 at the Stephen B. Humphrey Theater on the SJU campus. The talent show is a fabulous showcase of our students’ amazing performances. This is a show for the whole family- feel free to bring siblings and grandparents! This event is free, no rsvp necessary. *** There will be events at the Alcuin Library and Great Hall at the same time as the talent show. Please plan to park at Saint John’s Prep and walk to the theater. Pre-Talent Show Family Dinner SJU Refectory Oct. 6 from 5:15 p.m.-6:45 p.m. We’re gathering before the talent show for a casual family dinner in the SJU Refectory. This is a chance for students, faculty and families to get together for a friendly pre-show meal. The folks at the Reef are setting aside tables in the Walter Reger Room just for us! Students can use their meal plans and family members can use cash/credit for payment at the door. To help SJU Dining services provide the best meal possible for us, please click here to add your name to the dinner count. Here are the themes: Oct. 5 Spirit Day (save the face paint for after mass!) Oct. 6 Dress like a Teacher Oct. 9 Pajama Day Oct. 10 Twin Day (or dress like your date) Oct. 11 Testing Day (No dress up on this day!) Oct. 12 Wacky Day Oct. 13 Spy Day Student Council is planning special events throughout the week for students to enjoy during the school day. Stay tuned for more fun details about this fun week! Outdoor Fall Festival October 13 5:30pm Saint John’s Prep Campus, behind the school Join us for a night for all students, grades 6-12 and their families and friends! This evening will include a massive game of find the flag, food, bonfire and a live concert. Plan to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. Homecoming Dance Sexton Commons SJU The Homecoming Dance for grades 9-12 is Saturday, Oct. 14 at Sexton Commons and Brother Willie’s Pub. Royalty Coronation is at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $25. Students will receive a link to purchase a ticket for the dance via Schoology later this week. *While many students do attend the dance with a date, many opt to attend with a group of friends. This is a night for students to get together and dance!
