Theresa C. “Terri” Loecken, age 91 of St. Martin, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Park View Center in Melrose, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 14 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin with Rev. Edward Vebelun, O.S.B. officiating and Rev. Ken Thielman and Rev. Roger Klassen, O.S.B. concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Martin Parish Center in St. Martin. Parish prayers will be held at 4 p.m. immediately followed with a rosary by the St. Martin Catholic Order of Foresters and New Munich and St. Martin Christian Women Thursday evening at the Parish Hall.

Theresa Catherine Rausch was born August 4, 1927 in Farming, Minnesota to Joseph and Anna (Lodemeier) Rausch. She was united in marriage to Joseph “Joe” Loecken on December 30, 1947 in Farming, Minnesota. The couple farmed in Cold Spring for 10 years and then farmed in St. Martin Township for 36 years until their retirement in 1991. They moved to Lake Maria near New Munich until 2010 and then moved to Park View Center in Melrose where Terri was so appreciative of the outstanding care she received.

She was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin and Immaculate Conception Church in New Munich, St. Martin and New Munich Christian Women, St. Martin Catholic Order of Foresters and Tel-Star 4-H Club for over 30 years. She enjoyed fishing, ballgames, an occasional trip to the casino, and playing cards with family and friends. One of Terri’s highlights of her life was being part of a private audience with the Pope when he was on a pilgrimage.

Survivors include her children, Virgil (Dorine) Loecken of Sauk Centre, Donna (Mark) Herickhoff of Elrosa, Randy (Judy) Loecken of St. Martin, Joel (Michelle) Loecken of Crystal, and Shelly (Dan) Roiger of Canton, New York; daughter-in-law, Connie Loecken of Dent; 20 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.

Terri was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Loecken on March 15, 2018; son, Dennis Loecken on September 13, 2018; parents; brothers, Ed, Alphonse, and Leander; and sisters, Catherine Linz, Mary Kniprath, Elizabeth Kohorst, Cecilia Kohorst, Leona Statz, and Margaret Hoppe.
