Marvin Allen Friedrich

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 2-6PM with a time of sharing at 5:30PM on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud for Marvin A. Friedrich, age 47, of South Jordan, Utah passed away at his home in Utah on Sunday, October 23, 2016.

Marvin Allen Friedrich was born January 27, 1969 in St. Cloud to Marvin G. and Connie (LaVoy) Friedrich.  During his youth, Marvin was very involved in Boy Scouts working towards becoming an Eagle Scout.  He played the Trombone in his high school band, and was often mischievous as a child.  He attended St. John’s Prep and worked hard to support his way through schooling.

Following graduation, Marvin attended the University of Minnesota studying Aero Space Engineering and then transferred to Southern Oregon University where he obtained degrees in Graphic Arts, Math Science, and Accounting.  Marvin married Maria Rius in 1993; the couple raised three beautiful children and later divorced.  Marvin worked for Provocraft in Salt Lake City, Utah; moving himself and his family to Saratoga Springs, Utah.  He and his family stayed in Utah while Marvin did contract work for several companies developing computer software for 3D imaging, virtual reality, and other creative projects.

Marvin was artistic, musically inclined, logistically intelligent, and always interested in learning.  He was a big kid at heart and could fill the room with his jovial, charismatic personality.  Most importantly, Marvin loved his children beyond words and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Marvin is survived by his children, Austin, Trinity, Niobe; mother of his children, Maria Rius-Friedrich of Utah; mother, Connie (Mike) Morris of Medford, OR; father, Marvin of Waite Park; siblings, Brad (Karen) Studanski of Richmond, Melissa Chance of St. Joseph, Jodi (Steve) Faber of Cold Spring, Craig (Jessi) Friedrich of Richmond; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
