Ralph H.Torborg of Minnetonka, MN, 84, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2018. Ralph was born in Richmond, MN on June 14, 1933 to Joseph and Mary (Schlangen) Torborg. He attended St. John’s Prep, graduated from St. John’s University in 1955 and began a lifelong career in engineering. Ralph often said he never worked a day in his life, and actually looked forward to Mondays. He earned the distinction of Research Fellow at Honeywell, with many patents to his credit. His generosity, kindness and unconditional love touched many through his commitment to social justice causes and Stephen’s Ministry. 
Ralph loved to bike, fish, travel, play cards, dance, and sing. His love of music was a common thread throughout his life. He sang in the St. John’s Men’s Chorus, numerous church choirs and most recently the Cold Spring Maennerchor. His adoration for his grandchildren was obvious by his endless support at their activities and the bright smile on his face in their presence.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, LaVerne (Thul); children Julie (Mike) Hussey, Tom (Kris), Laura (Rick) Kakach, Dan (Becky), Pam (Dana) Hendrickson; his beloved grandchildren Matt (Michelle), Andrew, Rachel, R.J. (Mackenzie), Tyler, Jack, Tommy, Christopher, Robbie, Lucy, and Gus; his newest joy great granddaughter Iris; brothers Harold (Jane), Melvin (Betty), sister-in-law Mary Torborg, many nieces, nephews, friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Fr. Lawrence Torborg, Leander Torborg, and Fr. Elmer Torborg.
Mass of Christian Burial and Visitation Saturday, January 20, Church of St. Therese of Deephaven, 18323 Minnetonka Blvd, Minnetonka. Mass at 11 AM, Visitation 9 to 11 AM.
