Timothy Paul Ojile ’66

June 29, 1948 – January 31, 2017

Timothy Paul Ojile ’66 passed away peacefully on January 31, 2017. He was born in Minneapolis on June, 29 1948, to Geraldine and Frederick Ojile, Sr., who preceded him in death. He is survived by his partner-in-life, Darius Homayounpour, and his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Therese and James Marx, Michael and Linda Ojile, William and Mary Ojile, Frederick and Fay Ojile, and Bernadette and Ronald Seliski. Also survived by 17 nieces and nephews and their spouses and partners and children, as well as cousins William Jr. and Maria Ojile, and the Billotte cousins.

A well known and respected artist in the United States and Japan, Timothy attended St. Charles Borromeo School, St. John’s Prep, and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Japanese Art History. In 1972, he moved to New York City where he lived and worked for ten years. He them moved to Honolulu where he was loved as an art teacher and continued to develop his career as an artist. He moved back to the Twin Cities with Darius two years ago. A memorial for Timothy will be held in the early spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Minnesota Orchestra in Timothy’s name.
