Best Catholic High School In MN

We’re honored to have been selected as the best Catholic high school in Minnesota; only two of the top 12 Catholic high schools in Minnesota are outside of the Twin Cities!

The list of best Catholic high schools in Minnesota is based on a rigorous analysis of a number of factors relating to our school, including: reviews from current and past students and parents; SAT/ACT scores; the quality of colleges students consider and are accepted to; student-teacher ratio; Catholic school ratings and more. Data from the U.S. Department of Education is also used to help rank the schools across the nation.

Catholic High School Rating

While Niche.com’s Catholic high school rating reasoning isn’t released, we have to believe a large part of it is due to the moral and spiritual development students receive at Saint John’s Prep. Sharing a campus with Saint John’s University and with a number of faculty who are monks at Saint John’s Abbey next door, these resources serve our students well.

Guided by the Rule of Benedict, Saint John’s Prep encourages students to create a balance of academic, physical and personal development.

Test Scores

Our average student’s ACT score is 29, far above the national average of 21.

College Enrollment

We are proud to say 98% of our seniors go on to four-year colleges in the official report. We also note that 100% of our seniors are accepted to four-year colleges and universities, but a small number choose to take a gap year to further their real-life experiences before college.

Student-Teacher Ratio

And people love our student-teacher ratio of 9:1 according to Niche. This shows that we value having a large, varied faculty to provide individualized attention to students.
