Mary Jo is from St. Cloud, MN. She graduated from Saint John’s Prep in 1980 and began teaching here in 1993. She has her BA in Psychology from the University of Minnesota and her MA in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Wisconsin. For almost 20 years, Mary Jo served as the Director of Guidance and Counseling and responsible for College Placement and Career Exploration. She is now excited to undertake a new role for Saint John’s Prep as Associate Director of Admissions for students from the United States.
In addition to working with new Prep families, Mary Jo is also proud to lead the Parent Ambassadors program. This group hosts community events to share information and spread the good news about Saint John’s Prep. Mary Jo studied in Germany in college for one semester through the College of St. Benedict. After completing her undergraduate work at the U of Minnesota, she spent a year as a nanny in Giessen, Germany. Mary Jo is the proud parent of two Prep graduates, Alex ’13 and Max ’15. She loves spending time with her extended family, traveling, reading, attending cultural events on campus, cooking and good food.
She loves being on the Saint John’s Prep campus and believes that the sense of community has not changed. She is excited to be a part of a place willing to try new ideas and challenge students in a variety of ways.
