Paul Keyworth is originally from Bournemouth in the United Kingdom where he has fond memories of the Jurassic coastline, sandy beaches, and the nearby New Forest which was William the Conqueror’s royal hunting ground. He teaches English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and is the ESOL Program Director at Saint John’s Preparatory School.
Mr. Keyworth completed his B.Sc. in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Kent at Canterbury in England. After graduating, he left Britain and embarked upon his career in English language teaching. Since 2002, Mr. Keyworth has taught in a wide variety of educational contexts in South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, the UK, and the USA. In 2014, he attained his M.A. in TESL at St. Cloud State University (SCSU) in Minnesota and was the winner of SCSU’s 2014 Distinguished Thesis Award for his acoustic phonetic work on pronunciation. Prior to coming to Saint John’s Prep, Mr. Keyworth taught international students in SCSU’s intensive English program and volunteered as an English tutor for Central MN Adult Basic Education.
What thrills Mr. Keyworth most about working at Saint John’s Prep is the opportunity to work in a beautiful, learner-centric environment with such warm and dedicated colleagues. He enjoys inspiring and helping our nonnative English speaking students on their journeys as lifelong learners and global citizens.
In his spare time, Mr. Keyworth loves travel, reading, tennis, and chess, combining his passions whenever and wherever possible.
