Electronic Funds Transfer Electronic Funds Transfer, or EFT, is used to move money from one account to another. The transaction is completed electronically, and the two accounts can be at the same financial institution or different financial institutions. Payment by EFT is safe, secure, efficient, and less expensive than payment by paper check. Saint John’s Prep’s most commonly utilized EFT is Automated Clearing House (ACH). An ACH transaction is an electronic money transfer made between banks and credit unions. ACH is used for all kinds of money transfers, including direct deposit of paychecks and monthly debits for routine payments. Saint John’s Prep accepts both one-time and recurring ACH transfers.
