In Memoriam ~ Oliver Hennen ’20, brother of Max Hennen ’16

Our beloved son, Oliver James Hennen, age 16, joined his Creator in Heaven on November 13, 2018. We’re not sure if it was his intent to leave us or a stupid experiment that went really, really wrong. The end result is the same – a hole in our hearts and in our family.

Our dear Oliver was a quiet, tender, bright young man full of promise. Formerly a student at St. Boniface School, he was part of the St. John’s Prep community and was recently enrolled as a PSEO student at SCTCC where he was earning all A’s. Oliver dreamed of going to medical school and was on his way to achieving that goal when his earthly story ended. He was a member of the Youth Chorale of Central MN and the youth group at Westwood Church. Oliver’s life was blessed by many teachers and mentors that went out of their way to connect with him and discover his amazing qualities.

While our hearts are shattered with grief, we rejoice in the promise of heaven and the knowledge that Oliver is finally free from the anxiety that robbed him of his ability to be himself.

Left behind to remember him forever are his parents Rick & Robyn Hennen, brothers Max and Teddy, grandparents Bill & Carol Lewis and Vernon & Alverna Hennen, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will also be missed by furry friends, Twitch, Casper, and Tanzi.

We will be gathering to celebrate Oliver’s life on Monday, November 19th at Westwood Church, 5719 Walnut Dr, St. Cloud, MN. The service will begin at 7pm with visitation one hour prior. All are welcome to grieve with us and remember what a special kid he was. Please wear your favorite flannel shirt or hoodie and your Converse shoes. In lieu of flowers, we will be donating memorial funds to causes that were important to Oliver.
