SJP Senior Named a Commended Student in National Merit Scholarship Program Posted on September 29, 2017 in Student News Saint John’s Preparatory school is proud to announce that Regan Mies ’18 has been named a Commended Student in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. Regan is the daughter of Jeff and Susan Mies of Cold Spring, MN. Principal Pam McCarthy gave Regan an official Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation during an all school colloquim this week. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation conducts the program and gave Principal McCarthy the letter to award to this scholastically talented senior. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2018 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition by taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
