Emmerich Sack ’15 is a retired German teacher and the current Austrian Student Director for Saint John’s Prep. He retired at the end of the 2014-2015 school year but remains an important part of the Saint John’s Prep community. In 2015 Emmy Sack was named Teacher of the Year by the Minnesota Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of German. Emmy is known as “Herr Sack” to generations of Saint John’s Prep students. He was named an honorary member of the Class of 2015 at commencement in June 2015.
“My most rewarding experience as a teacher has not been a specific event, but rather, for me to be able to fulfill a teacher’s many roles in a student’s life,” Herr Sack says. “I love to be a part of their early life, their education and to help them become a world citizen.”
