Saint John’s Preparatory School Names New Principal after National Search

Dr. Christine Glomski, Ed.D. Joins Saint John’s prep As Principal in July

 

Saint John’s Preparatory School is proud to name Dr. Christine Glomski, Ed.D., as its next principal. Dr. Glomski joins Saint John’s Prep alongside Jon McGee, who was named the new Head of School in March.

“Dr. Christine Glomski is a dynamic, creative and collaborative leader. She brings long experience and exceptional leadership to the principal position at Saint John’s Prep,” said Jon McGee. “As the parent of three Prep students, she also brings a deep commitment to the school. Christine personifies excellence. I am thrilled about the opportunity to work with her as we lead into our future.”

Dr. Glomski has served as principal of Becker Intermediate in Becker since 2011. As principal, she currently manages, evaluates and coaches 75 faculty and staff members in a school for students in third, fourth and fifth grades. She’s also served as assistant principal and principal of Independence and Liberty Elementary in Big Lake and as dean of students at Forest Lake High School in Forest Lake, MN.

Dr. Glomski has been a part of the Saint John’s Prep community as a parent and now looks forward to joining the school as an administrator. “With my own children at the Prep School, I have been extremely impressed by the academic team. I have come to know the team at SJP as passionate, dedicated, and driven. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside such a phenomenal team of educators. I firmly believe that together we will create a fantastic future for the students at Saint John’s Prep.”

Dr. Glomski holds a Doctorate in Education from Hamline University, a Master of Education degree from St. Mary’s University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gustavus Adolphus College. Dr

Dr. Glomski comes to Saint John’s Prep with ten years of administrative experience in educational programming, setting instructional direction and curriculum evaluation. In addition, Dr. Glomski has valuable experience providing post-secondary and career guidance for high school students. As a principal, Dr. Glomski is known for her reputation as a collaborative leader with a contagious enthusiasm for education.

Dr. Glomski is looking forward to working with students in both the upper and middle school. Saint John’s Prep is adding a fifth-grade program in the fall of 2019. “I love the Saint John’s Prep community. Expanding the current school community to include fifth grade students is an exciting opportunity for all of us,” she said. “I am looking forward to helping SJP build upon past success and thrive as a 5-12 grade system.”

Dr. Glomski is a member of Association of Supervision & Curriculum Development, the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the Minnesota Elementary School Principals Association.

Dr. Glomski visited the Saint John’s Prep on April 15 and took part in open meetings with parents, students, and faculty. A selection committee made up of members of the Board of Regents, current parents, faculty, and administrators directed the national search and interview process.
She will join the staff of Saint John’s Prep in July. Saint John’s Prep is grateful for the work of Katie Bergstrom ’83 who stepped in to serve as interim principal for the 2018-19 school year while the school prepared for a transition of leadership.
