The Hunchback Of Notre DameThe Saint John’s Prep Theatre Department is bringing Disney’s A Hunchback of Notre Dame  to life! The cast and crew is bringing this sweeping score and powerful story to the stage at the Paramount Center for the Arts March 22-24, 2024! Be prepared to be swept away by the magic of this truly unforgettable musical!

This production will take you to Paris with an epic cathedral size set, vivid backdrops and exciting special effects. More than 60 Saint John’s Prep students in grades 6-12  are bringing this tale to life! The shows will also feature a background choir with singers from the Great River Chorale, Saint John’s Abbey, and Saint John’s Prep alumni. Be prepared for powerful performances and heart stopping music!

The story comes from the book by Victor Hugo and includes songs from the Disney film.  Prep’s production is set at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and features the title character, Quasimodo, who is the cathedral’s bell-ringer.  Quasimodo’s uncle is the intimidating Dom Claude Frollo who orders Quasi to stay hidden in the bell tower. Quasimodo defies his uncle and leaves the church and befriends the beautiful Esmeralda. The show follows Quasimodo’s efforts to protect Esmeralda from his uncle.

The show runs March 22-24 at the Paramount Center of the Arts in St. Cloud, MN. Tickets are $25 for adults and $17 for children.
Click here to reserve your seats today!  American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be offered at 7:30pm on March 23.

Grand Tour of Nations is a party for parents, grandparents, alumni and friends to come together and support Saint John’s Prep. Proceeds from Grand Tour provide vital funding for student scholarships and programs. This fundraiser will be held on April 27, 2024 at the Gorecki Center on the campus of the College of Saint Benedict. We are excited to host a spectacular event with a delicious dinner, silent auction, live auction and giving moment. We hope you will join us on this spectacular evening to support our school and students!

Our destination this year is India! Our volunteers are already working on spectacular décor and a delicious menu to transport our Grand Tour Guests to India on April 27.

Thanks to your participation and generosity at the 2023 event, Grand Tour raised over $250,000 for student programs and scholarships! We hope to surpass that amount in 2024! If you would like to be a part of the 2023 event’s success, contact Jill Pauly, Director of Communications and Events via email jpauly@sjprep.net or Sara Gabrielson, Annual Giving Manager, at sgabriels001@sjprep.net.

DONATE AN ITEM OR BECOME A SPONSOR

You can ensure the success of Grand Tour of Nations by contributing to the silent or live auction. Take a look at our wishlist for donation ideas. If you aren’t sure what to donate, you could contribute money and our volunteers will create a basket in your name. You can drop items off at school or request that a volunteer picks it up. Have sports tickets, concert tickets or other experiences? Our volunteers would love to offer them in the live or silent auction! Contact Jill Pauly for further details.

Sponsors are such an integral part of Grand Tour of Nations. Your support directly impacts the educational experience of our students by providing scholarship and programming funding. Sara Gabrielson, Annual Giving Manager, at sgabriels001@sjprep.net to learn more about sponsorship opportunities!
For business owners, advertising through Grand Tour can really help get the word out to potential clients. We hope you will consider becoming a sponsor!

REGISTER FOR JUNE 29 AT SAINT JOHN’S PREP

The Class of 1964 is planning an exciting 60th class reunion! Please save the date of June 28-30, 2024 for this wonderful event to reconnect and reminisce. We have planned a Friday night dinner just for the Class of ‘64 in the old Alumni Lounge (Quad 170). There will be a piano available in case anyone would like to play and sing at the same time?! I wonder who that could be? The fee for the dinner is $60 per person and includes dinner, beer, wine and soft drinks. Click here to register for our dinner and all of the great events scheduled for the weekend.

In addition, we have made arrangements to “tour” the old dorms on the 5th floor of the Quad.  We hear that it is still much the same, but we want to verify that in person. Besides the Friday activities for the Class of 64, the “all-school” events are scheduled for Saturday, including lectures, tours of the “new” dorm Saint Michael Hall, group pictures, and a big frolicking dinner at Sexton Commons.  You may know that the Class of ‘74 is celebrating 50 years of women at the Prep School, so that will be a special celebration.

Looking forward to seeing you and your spouse/partner on June 28th. Registration online is at www.sprep.net/events.

Bob Kessler, Tom Moyer, Jim Cox, John Sipe, Phil Ledermann, and Brother Walter Kieffer
