Josephine Ann Brummer (Moix), affectionately known as Jo, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, in St. Joseph, Minnesota at the age of 92. Born on March 6, 1932, in Conway, Arkansas, Jo lived a life marked by love, joy, and a deep commitment to her family.

Jo was a beacon of kindness and generosity, always ensuring that those around her had their needs met. Her joyous spirit and willingness to help others was evident through her numerous contributions to local community services. Jo’s legacy of love and care continues to live on through her family and all the lives she touched. As a registered nurse she donated her time to the St. Joseph Lab and Kennedy Elementary as a Volunteer School Nurse. She facilitated Red Cross Blood Drives at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University. Jo was an active member of the St. Joseph Legion Auxiliary and the St. Joseph VFW Auxiliary. As a Boy Scouts Cub Scout Den Mother she enriched the lives of those who participated in the program. Lastly, she always made sure that anything of value was extended and donated to anyone in need.

Jo is lovingly remembered by her four sons, James Brummer Jr. (Jane) of Burnsville, MN; William Brummer of Mission Viejo, CA; Hank Brummer (Betsy) of Woodbury, MN; and Dan Brummer (Lisa) of Dallas, TX. Her ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive her, who she cherished deeply. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Cyprian and Elizabeth (Bruick) Moix; her beloved husband, Col. James Brummer; her siblings, Appolonia Moix, OSB, Ann Beckett, Helen Hinson, Virginia Moix, Catherine White, Angela Kitchens; and her twin brother, Joseph Moix; her daughter-in-law, Sue (Mathews) Brummer; and her grandson, Dave Brummer.
