Great Students. Great Teaching. Great Outcomes.

At Saint John’s Prep, we prize imagination and creativity. Our Middle School leverages the power of relationships to inspire a love of learning, inviting students to connect, explore, create, and discover through a hands-on, experiential curriculum.

Saint John’s Prep students in grades 6th, 7th and 8th learn in classrooms, in science labs, under the bright lights of performance stages, in wildly creative art rooms, and outdoors on our magnificent 2,700-acre campus of lakes, forest, and wetlands.

Our outstanding middle school faculty challenge students to reach beyond the familiar. We engage our students not only as they are but in relation to all they can become in a school environment where students feel safe and supported, respected and valued.

6th Grade Highlights

Experiential & interdisciplinary LEARNING

Our 6th graders build life-long relationship skills while they explore a challenging curriculum and learn valuable study habits to prepare them for high school and beyond.

Your 6th grade student will receive an introduction to German, Chinese, and Spanish as the foundation of the language curriculum. In addition to personal writing instruction, students will have the opportunity to be immersed in hands-on learning experiences from St. John’s University. To round out your student’s prep school experience, arts and activities are interwoven with social studies.

7th and 8th Grade Highlights

COMBINED CLASSES, CUSTOMIZED SCHEDULES

Our 7th and 8th-grade classes are integrated, and taught with an interdisciplinary approach, so our students can continue to build relationships with our faculty and begin pursuing their unique gifts and passions.

7th and 8th-grade students can expect classes that provide a holistic approach to learning across subjects, including more flexibility to select unique electives courses that speak to them. Not to mention, we offer advanced-level math opportunities and individual music lessons to support the scholastic and artistic development of your child. And when they’re ready for global experiences, they’ll be prepared after immersive instruction in German, Chinese, or Spanish.

Fine Arts Programming

Performing and visual arts are an integral part of our curriculum at Saint John’s Prep. Art and music are offered on alternating days, and students can choose from band, choir, and orchestra. The theater department stages multiple productions during the school year that middle schoolers can participate in; the all-school musical in the spring is always a crowd favorite!
