Mary Dudley is an upper school English teacher. She was born and raised in New Prague, Minnesota and earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy from Creighton University. During her time at Creighton, she discovered her love for 18th and 19th century literature and philosophy and spent a semester abroad in Scotland at the University of Glasgow studying British literature. After completing her bachelors degrees, she earned her Master of Arts in English from the University of Louisville where she researched the application of existential philosophical frameworks to the works of Charlotte Brontë and taught “Introduction to College Composition” and “Intermediate College Composition” to first year students at U of L.

Inspired by literature’s power to reveal truths of the human heart, Ms. Dudley is passionate about contributing to Prep’s mission of forming the next generation of thoughtful and compassionate leaders by creating classroom spaces in which students are able to critically engage with the plot of their own lives and the lives of those in their local and global communities. In her free time, Ms. Dudley can be found reading one of the many books on her TBR list, hiking, playing piano, and spending time with family and friends.
