Mr. Erickson is originally from the tiny town (population under 40) of Wolford, North Dakota. He earned his BS in English from Minnesota State University-Moorhead and MS in English from St. Cloud State University. Robert began his teaching career in Killdeer, North Dakota where he also served as the head boys’ basketball coach. After two years of graduate school where he taught composition as a teaching assistant, he joined Saint John’s Prep in 1991. Mr. Erickson currently teaches English 9, British Literature, and World Literature. He initiated our school’s literary magazine, The Triangle, and still serves as its supervisor.

Mr. Erickson spent one month in England observing schools and has led the popular student tours to London several times. He has also traveled to Canada, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland. Other than traveling, he enjoys basketball, baseball, reading, and theater.

Although Saint John’s Prep is located on an incredibly beautiful campus, Mr. Erickson says the people make the place special. Prep students are amazing with their zest for life and learning—they continually make him optimistic about our world’s future. Mr. Erickson says his colleagues are engaging, cooperative, dedicated and generous—a true pleasure to be around.
