Senior Receives Full Scholarship to Grinnell College Through National Program

Saint John’s Prep Senior Receives Four-Year Full Tuition, Room and Board Scholarship from Questbridge

Senior Noelle Buehrer has earned a 4 year scholarship to Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa through the Questbridge college match program. The full four-year scholarship covers tuition, room and board, and books.  Noelle is the daughter of Barth and Michelle Buehrer of Saint Cloud. She is the sister of Henry Buehrer ’24.

Noelle earned the scholarship through the QuestBridge National College Match program. This is a very  competitive program that offers high-achieving students from modest financial backgrounds access to some of the most competitive universities and colleges in the United States.

Noelle is among 6,312 finalists selected nationwide from a pool of more than 16,500 applicants. Of those 6,132 finalists, she is one of just 1,650 to be matched and receive a scholarship.

On campus Noelle serves as the editor of yearbook and the Prep Post. She is also the head of the Pride Club. She’s a member of the tennis team, mock trial, chamber choir, jazz band, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society and the Triangle literary magazine.

Noelle plans to study English and theatre at Grinnell. After earning her bachelor’s degree, she hopes to attend law school. “I’ve always had a passion for justice, and after joining Mock Trial junior year, I realized that my calling is in the courtroom.”

Noelle has attended Saint John’s Prep since sixth grade. She is very appreciative of her time at Saint John’s Prep because she feels her teachers treat her as an individual. “My favorite thing about the school is the teachers and how committed they are to each individual student. Teachers and administrators know me by name, which makes me feel recognized. I have always felt comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns, and even talking about personal stuff.”

Noelle, like all Johnnies, benefits from Prep’s extensive one-on-one college guidance counseling program that is led by our Student Services Department. The process helps students explore fields of study and learn about all aspects of the college search, from campus visits to financial aid. 100% of Johnnies are accepted to a 4 year college or university.
