Andrew Goetz, son of Carl Goetz ’71

Andrew “Andy” Goetz, 32, passed away on October 10, 2021.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at St. Martins Catholic Church, Center, with Fr. Stephen Folorunso celebrating and Msgr. Chad Gion concelebrating. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website at the bottom of Andy’s obituary page. Cremation has taken place and the family will greet friends at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the service on Saturday.

Andrew Clarence Goetz was born January 28, 1989, to Carl and LeAnn (Keller) Goetz. Raised and educated in Center, Andy enjoyed basketball, golf, skateboarding, snowboarding, hunting, and doing anything mischievous with his friends. Being the only boy with four older sisters, he kept his mom and dad on their toes and was often used as a human doll for his sisters to make him pretty with makeup and dressy outfits. His greatest passion was hunting, and he learned many valuable lessons from his dearest best friend, his Dad, about hunting and safety. There are many years of great hunting memories and big buck trophies hanging on their walls. Andy loved taking his best buddy, Brutus, pheasant hunting and said pheasant season was his and Brutus’ prime time of the year.

Andy couldn’t wait for his young daughter to grow up so he could teach her all about and share his passions with her. Family hunting days were talked about with the biggest smiles and plans for the future. Summers were spent at the lake and filled with tons of laughter, bumps and bruises from tubing, wakeboarding, riding jet ski, and whatever fun activity was tried behind the boat. Andy attended Bismarck State College earning himself three degrees. He was employed at Minnkota Power and loved his job although his favorite promotion was becoming a DaDa to his daughter Madalyn, his Princess, who was born February 16, 2020. Andy enjoyed every moment he spent with Maddy, playing and teaching her all kinds of new things. Her first word was DaDa and he made sure to brag about it daily. His little girl was his whole world, always making him smile and laugh even after a hard day. These are all memories that will forever be cherished and missed by man. Andy Goetz, the best father, husband, son, brother, and friend to many. A fantastic man, gone too soon.

Blessed to have shared in his life is his wife, Amber and their daughter, Madalyn; parents, Carl and LeAnn Goetz; sisters, Beth Goetz (Brent), Fargo, Czesia Goetz (Ryan), Center, Katina Larson, Fargo, and LaCosta Tittle (Rod), Fort Walton Beach, FL; nieces and nephews, Ethan, Isabella, Caitlin, and Gage; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

Andy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tony and Rita Goetz and Leo and Annabel Keller; cousin, Jeremy Goetz; and infant uncle, Karl John.

** Andy wasn’t able to walk the fields of Heaven without his pal, Brutus, so he called Brutus to be with him in Heaven on October 15, 2021.
