James “Jim” Sifferle ’49

James L. “Jim” Sifferle, age 92, of Bloomington passed away on May 17, 2023. Preceded in death by loving wife Mary Pat, parents Edward F. and Mae Sifferle, sister Rita Maley, and brothers Edward J. and Michael Sifferle.

Survived by beloved sister Judy Hillstead, daughter Patricia, sons William (Kari), Gregoryand David, grandchildren Brendan, Ana, Joseph, Matthew and Aaron, and many nieces and nephews.

Raised in Minneapolis, Jim graduated from St. John’s Preparatory School and the University of Minnesota Law School. He worked as an estate tax attorney and then spent more than 30 wonderful years in retirement, during which he enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time with family, gardening, napping and generally puttering around. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 901 E. 90th St., Bloomington MN on May 31, at 11 a.m., with visitation 1 hour prior and lunch to follow. Private burial.
