In Memoriam – Marvin Weniger ’57 Posted on March 4, 2024 in Alumni News, Obituaries Marvin Weniger ’57 Father of Marvin J. Weniger, Jr. ’03 and Bonnie Keefe ’02Grandfather of Jacob Weniger ’26 and Jaden Weniger ’26 Marvin Joseph Weniger, 84, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, died on February 28, 2024. Born to John and Neva Weniger, Marvin was raised in Wahpeton, North Dakota. He attended high school at Saint John’s Preparatory School in Collegeville, Minnesota where he enjoyed Debate Club. He enlisted in the Navy after high school. Marvin studied electrical engineering at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho and later earned a Masters in International Studies from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. He retired from the Navy in 1991 and moved his family aboard a sailboat for 11 years before settling in Virginia Beach, Virginia. There, he was active in church ministry, the Republican Party of Virginia Beach, and the Voter Integrity Board. Marvin was a loving husband and father who always had ice cream and pie for the grandkids when they visited. He put his all in everything he did. Marvin is survived by his wife Christine Weniger, his sister Teresa Murray, his ten children, and twenty-nine grandchildren. The Funeral Mass is at 11:00 a.m. on March 8, 2024 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Norfolk, Virginia with Viewing starting at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope 4 Life (www.hope4lifeva.com) would be greatly appreciated.
