In Memoriam ~ Mary Neu

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday March 31, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Waite Park for Mary Lee Neu, 86 of Keizer, OR and formerly of Waite Park, who died Tuesday March 7, 2023 at her home in Keizer. The Rev. Doug Mullin and Rev. Timothy Gapinski will concelebrate, and burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Visitation will be from 9:30 am to 10:30 am Friday at the church in Waite Park. Arrangements are by the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud.  

Mary was born January, 1937 in Manchuria, China to Lee Jung So and Park Sun Hwa. Mary was taught to sew by her father and worked as a seamstress for the Servicemen stationed in Seoul Korea where she met Thomas Neu. She married Thomas James Neu on March 1, 1960 in Seoul, Korea. After moving to Cold Spring in 1960, she worked as a seamstress for both Sears and Petters Department Stores. She finished her working career as a nurses aid at the Assumption Community in Cold Spring. In 1994, Thomas and Mary moved to Waite Park and became a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park where she headed the Asian Meals and egg roll sales at the church selling over ten thousand egg rolls. She also mentored new Korean students at St. John Prep School in Collegeville.  

Mary is survived by her children; Theresa Toftey, Sauk Rapids, Kyle (Jennifer) Neu of Maple Grove, and Lyle (Tara) Neu of Keizer, OR. , grandchildren; Joshua and Benjamin Toftey, and Julia Neu. Sister, Bak Soon Hee (Joon) and brother Lee Wong Hee both of Seoul, Korea.   She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas Neu, infant son Lee Neu and siblings; Lee Wan Hee, Lee Yon Hee, Lee Kwan Hee, Lee Mung Hee, Lee Yong Hee.
