In Memoriam ~ Rose Gorman

Rose M. (Rosee Sieben) Gorman

Mother of Kris Fremo, Mary Rueter and Grandmother of Hannah ’24

Rosee Gorman, aged 81 of St. Cloud, passed away peacefully at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 17, 2021. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin on July 30 with a visitation at 9:30am, followed by an 11am mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud, MN. Lunch will follow immediately after Mass in the church dining hall.

Rosee was born in Sauk Centre, MN on March 2, 1940 to Frank and Agnes (Ahrens) Sieben. She graduated from Sauk Centre High school in 1958, and moved to the twin cities where she worked for General Mills. On one fateful weekend, upon returning home, she met Erv, a man she would fall in love with and marry just three months later. Rose and Urban (Erv) were married on June 17, 1961 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, MN. They lived for a short time in Sauk Centre, then moved to St. Cloud soon after their first child, Patti, was born in 1963, and have remained residents of St. Cloud ever since. Erv and Rosee had three children together, and this year, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Having been an only child, family was very important to Rosee. She was home with all three of her children, and had a hand in taking care of her grandchildren as well. She delighted in their accomplishments and never missed the opportunity to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or special occasion for those she loved. She loved children and also chose to work as a teacher’s aide at Lincoln Elementary School in St. Cloud, where she helped children with reading and math. Rosee will be remembered by those who knew her as exceptionally kind, patient and thoughtful. She had endless patience for tasks and for people.

In addition to her family, Rosee was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed attending, watching and sharing news about area athletes and followed high school, college and professional sports, as well as anything her children and grandchildren did. Rosee took great delight in the many scholastic, musical, theatrical and athletic accomplishments of people she knew. Rosee was a creative, meticulous person; able to tackle small and large projects alike. A master with fabric and a sewing machine, she sewed clothing for herself, her children and others, as well as making household draperies, quilts, original Halloween costumes and any manner of items needed. Her patience made her a wonderful gardener. She could get even the hardest to care for plants to bloom. She always said that she had more time than money and was willing to give just about anything a try. As her children grew, she went to work at Herberger’s in downtown St. Cloud, where she worked for years in the fabric department, as well as later, in the retail store.

Rosee is survived by her husband of 60 years, Urban (Erv) Gorman as well as her three daughters Patricia Gorman, Sartell; Mary (Mark) Rueter, St. Paul; Kris (David) Fremo, Cold Spring, grandchildren Jacob (Amanda) Rueter, St. Paul; Bethany (Jacob) Hibbard, White Bear Lake; Jeffrey (Kate Lowicz) Rueter, Minneapolis; Hannah and Maia Fremo and great grandson Noah Hibbard. Rosee is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Agnes Sieben, and stillborn sister Theresa.
