MIddle School Auction Raises over $1,000 for Families in Need

7th and 8th Graders Raise $1,344 for Anna Marie’s Alliance

On Monday, December 13 the 7th and 8th grade students for raising over $1,344 for Anna Marie’s Alliance, a shelter for women and children in difficult circumstances. The students raised the money in just one hour!

With the help of Col. Frank Imholte of Black Diamond Auctioneers and his wife, Peg, the students took part in a “white elephant” auction to raise the funds.

Families donated fun, teen-friendly unmarked gifts for students to bid and win! Prizes included snacks, candy, Christmas decor, teen body soaps and lotions, toys, purses, and other fun items!

The venerable Mr. Stark was on hand to assist with the auction and then took eight 8th grade students with him to shop for items from the wish list of the two families “adopted” from Anna Marie’s shelter. The auction raised $1,344 which allowed all of the the wish list items to be purchased with money left over for grocery and gas gift cards.

Great work everyone, and thanks to parents for their generous donations!
