Saint John’s Prep School Students Earn 2020 AAA Award

Seniors Jeremiah Weber and Justine Meyer are the Saint John’s Prep recipients of the “Triple A (Academics, Arts and Athletics) Award” by the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL).  According to the MSHSL, the purpose of this program is to recognize and honor high school seniors who have excelled in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in the fine arts.  The two will be honored at the Section 5A Triple A Award Banquet on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the Paynesville Legion Club.

Jeremiah is the son of Kari and Stephen Weber of Sartell, MN. Jeremiah is a member of the Saint John’s Prep Chamber and Concert Choirs. He is also a talented visual artist and creates many pieces of ceramics in the Saint John’s Prep studio. Jeremiah has performed in several musicals at Saint John’s Prep, including Les Miserables, Mary Poppins and in March of 2020 he will perform the role of ‘Perchik’ in Fiddler on the Roof. Jeremiah is captain of the cross-country team and earned the title of “Most Valuable Athlete” in the 2019 season. Jeremiah is an active member of his church and has traveled to Honduras for a mission trip.

Justine Meyer is the daughter of Rita and Marv Meyer of Meire Gove, MN.  She plays the trumpet in the Saint John’s Prep Concert, Pep and Jazz Bands.  Justine is an artists who creates paintings and sketches in the Saint John’s Prep studio. Justine is a member of the swim, track and basketball teams. She’s been awarded ‘Most Valuable Player’ awards in basketball and track. She’s also been named as ‘Athlete of the Week’ in October 2019 and ‘Swimmer of the Year’ in 2018.  Justine is an officer in National Honor Society. She’s a member of 4-H who has competed at the Minnesota State Fair in art and livestock categories.

Criteria for the Triple A Award include:  Exhibit citizenship and be a respected individual in their home communities and school, have participated in a MSHSL-sponsored athletic program and fine arts activity, maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and comply with the MSHSL’s Student Code of Conduct.
