It has been an incredible season for the Saint John’s Prep 2023 Boys’ and Girls’ SJP Track and Field Team! We just finished our season at the Minnesota State high School League Track and Field Meet at St. Michael/Albertville High School with one the largest number of state participants in over 30 years. And after an incredible first day of preliminary races and one final, ALL of our Athletes made it to the finals and podium for medals! Here are the impressive results from our athletes competing at Thursday and Friday’s MSHSL State Championship Meet: 4x800m Relay FIRST PLACE, STATE CLASS A CHAMPIONS! and NEW SJP School All-Time Record! (Nick Hansen ’24, Ben Suo ’25, Aaron Ruesink ’24, and Zach Meyer ’24) Boys 3200: 5th Place – Nick Hansen ’24 Girls: 1600: 6th Place – Olivia Pauly ’24 Boys’ 800: 4th Place – Zach Meyer ’24 NEW SJP School All-Time Record! Boys’ 4×400 Relay 5th Place – (Henry Buehrer ’25, Ben Suo ’25, Aaron Ruesink ’24, Zach Meyer ’24) NEW SJP School All-Time Record! Our boys’ team placed NINTH at the Minnesota Class A State Track and Field Meet! An incredible performance and an ALL TIME High Placement for the SJP Track and Field Teams! We are so incredibly proud of our state participants! They worked hard and persevered through the ups and downs and continued to “Trust the Plan” that ultimately led to this unprecedented success! It was an incredible journey and we look forward to another great season next year! A huge thank you to our coaches: Mr. Lance Nydeen, Mr. Bob Ellenbecker, Mr. Stephen Woods ’09, Mr. Kurt Salzl ’87 and Ms. Karyn Morrissey.
